I have recently completed a campaign with Old Mutual Wealth in SA’s major cities. They commissioned a survey into millennials and their money habits and one of the key insights and take-aways is that millennials are not financially confident!
The survey shows that millennials are among the most highly educated in SA (1 in 3 hold a bachelor’s degree), but although they are educated, they lack financial confidence! So how does one build financial confidence?
1. Get comfortable talking about money
1. Become clear about your financial goals and write them down
To build confidence in any area of your life, you have to work on it. Financial confidence is no different. You have to be deliberate about your financial goals.
2.Come up with a solid plan that has a deadline
3. Get yourself an accountability partner
